Retaining Walls

Retaining walls are most used for two purposes.  They hold back soil to prevent erosion on a slope, and create usable, functional space.  Building a retaining wall on your own can be a difficult task as often times the retaining wall blocks can be very heavy.  Determining the proper elevation points to begin the wall and figure materials can also be tricky.  If the wall is not constructed properly, it could fail causing damage to property or injuries to innocent bystanders.  Proper wall building techniques should be followed at all times to ensure the safety and longevity of each and every wall.  There are many types of retaining walls to consider: concrete block, natural stone, wood timbers, etc.  All have slightly different installation techniques.  It is best to have a qualified and experience contractor to take on such a task.
